In the past twenty plus  years there has been increasing attention given to the relationships between various dimensions of religiosity and its impact on the modern society. Research demonstrates important associations between religiosity and well-being.. Religiousness has been found to enhance remission in many members in the community with medical and psychiatric disease. Spirituality and religious faith are important coping mechanisms for managing stressful life events .

Although religiosity  remains an important aspect of human life, however, it is and always will to some extent, be a subject of controversy. Religion does tend to have its positive and negative effects on the society.

Hindu Religious Society organised their first conference titled  “Role of Spiritualism and Bhagwat Gita in Modern Day Mental Illness”  in July 2017. It was a huge success and the delegates present recommended organising a similar themed conference this year also. So, following their recommendation the above conference  is being organised on the subject  “Religious Values and their Impact on Modern Society ”
