Karva Chauth celebration at Radha Krishna Mandir in Gandhi Hall on Thursday 17th October 2019
Karva Chouth is a festival when the ladies keep the fast and pray for the well being of their husbands. They eat before the sunrise and open the fast after the moon rise. The prayers are done at both times and in addition pooja takes place in the afternoon / early evening, after which ladies can take a drink and eat some fruit if they so desire.
Our Shastri ji held the pooja around 4 pm and there was a gathering of beautifully dressed up ladies who had come to the mandir to attend. The ladies really enjoyed themselves and the atmosphere was great although we have had a bigger turnout in the past years. There were also some male members who had come to give support to their beloved wives.
